Toys for a Miniature Schnauzer puppy are not only fun to play with, but they are also an essential part of how a puppy develops in both mind and body.
What better way for a puppy to get that stimulation other than an adequate supply of toys suited to the wear and tear that a puppy will give a toy over time?
I believe that adults get as much, or more, fun from watching puppies with their toys as the puppy from playing with toys.
Be Aware of Your Miniature Schnauzer’s Boredom
Miniature Schnauzer puppies, as well as adult miniature schnauzers, will become bored when experiencing a lack of activity in their daily life.
A puppy is like a child; the very young need a lot of sleep. As they get older, they need less sleep and more activity. Should there be a lack of appropriate dog toys for a puppy to get the required exercise through play, he will find something to use as a toy.
The last thing any family needs is to discover that their beloved puppy has caused havoc by chewing the leg of a table or chair due to a lack of appropriate toys.
If it’s not the furniture puppy attacks due to boredom, you can be sure something else will catch his eye. He will find something to amuse himself.
Events such as those described can be challenging for family members to accept. But, the puppy sees that chair, table leg or other items tempting and off he goes biting with vim and vigour. Not a pleasant experience to find the furniture destroyed. An expensive happening, to be sure!
And be warned! Puppies also love things such as hats, cushions and perhaps the brand new knee rug recently received as a gift to a family member, but not meant for the puppy! However, it is colourful, as are the cushions and the hat left on a pillow. Oh, what fun puppy thinks; these must be my new toys.
Again, it’s not fun when discovering the wreckage. I’ve seen it happen in my own family!

Miniature Schnauzer’s Toy Box
When buying the first toy for your puppy, it’s a good idea to purchase a toy box.
Your Miniature Schnauzer is an intelligent puppy. You can teach him to put his toys away in his toy box when he doesn’t want to play.
I know that puppy putting his toys away sounds a bit much to expect. But I have seen puppies doing that. The thing to remember is that the puppy knows where to find his toys. He can get them out of the toy box. Therefore you can teach him to put his back into the toy box. This can be a good exercise for a puppy’s mental and physical development.
A puppy may not manage to put all his toys back into the right place, but providing him with the toy box is another way of keeping him active and occupied. Completing a task such as tidying his area will probably result in the puppy taking time out for a snooze.
Choosing Toys For A Miniature Schnauzer Puppy to Enjoy
Toys for a Miniature Schnauzer puppy, and puppies of all breeds, should be carefully chosen. Make sure toys are suitable in size and do not have any sharp pieces or parts that could harm the puppy.
Check the construction of the toy is of a suitable material that will withstand the wear and tear of the puppy’s activities.
In the case of a fabric toy, it’s a good idea to check that the toy is washable.
